  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Congratulations on the new TE250. That bike sure looks great with the larger fuel tank. I'm waiting for my local dealer to get one in and plan to take a good look at it. Really thinking about buying my first Husky. Would it be possible to list what came in the Power Up box? Thanks and good luck with the new ride.

You think it's tame now, wait till you take off all of the restrictions! Once you open up the airbox, take off the throttle stop, pull the cat out and take out the O2 sensor, it becomes so much more fun.

Well for my 2009 TE250, I got an open airbox cage, and a plug for the O2 sensor that activates the race map. Could be different for the new 2011 models.

The 20011 TE 250 Rips

Because of the weather and the state of my winter garb, I was unable to do my ride or report. The bike has been de-restricted , 15 miles on it.
Plan to rip around Santa Cruz Mountains tomorrow.

Extream DS Ride

Saturday I picked up my new low seat from the dealer. He asked If
I would like to do a DS poker run on Sunday? Hell ya on the new
bike.

Sunday 10 am behind some bar in Aptos there were 40+/- bikes and
riders ready for the challenge. At the riders meeting we were informed
and provided with a over-all course map. It was a basic SC mountain
ride with a big twist for me, Private Property ??? Single Track :)

The ride went like clock work for me, until I entered the unknown PP.
They laid out some crazy rabbit trails, not fun at first, a little over my
head for the fun factor. Didn't want to bust up the new bike.
I got myself into into it, so I kept going, a few turned back, I was
yet to see why??? Big mud pit, stream crossing, big mud pit and
a greasy muddy off camber hill climb. I was busy checking out how
beautiful the woods are in the winter. Should have been on the pegs
and the pipe (TE 250) but went for it, lugging it all the way. If it stalled
I would have been screwed...:banghead:

The little Husky that could!!! got me out of that shit and home in
1 piece ( me and the bike). Race map II, I use like locking down on
a 4 wheeler.

O ya forgot to mention 30 of those bikes were KTM's. A lot of people
where interested in the Husky. The red and white Husky in a Pumpkin Patch got Respect.

100 mile day.:D
