• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 GASGAS Two Strokes

Maybe the bike can.....
So why don't you step in and get higher finishes then GK?

He gets consistent top 7...nothing wrong with that. Plus he is a great guy that reps the brand well. As Husky tries to grow the brand in NA the people that rep the brand at races are about as important as getting the podium.

If I was his age I might.
When you were his age did you?

GK is one of the top 10 off road racers in NA. That ain't too bad.

LOL I am starting to sound like I love the guy :awww::lol:

I have owned 12 GasGas from '01-'07(1 250 9 300 and 2 450's) and 3 Husky's( 1 360, 1 TE450 and 1 TE250) and a few things I noticed - smooth really means nothing other than it's not yanking your arms out of the socket and it's hooking up instead of wheelspin... so is smooth really bad:busted:... Also, I don't think one is really better or worse regarding the Husky vs GG... when it comes to 2 smoke the power/handling of the GG is superior on single track and the Husky is superior on the 4 stroke... then again I'm 5'8" and the GG only offer a 450(until this year)... so what does this mean? Nothing, other than it's my preference!
I don't think there is a hairs difference in qaulity between the 2!

Ivan Cervantes will ride for Gas Gas in the next 2 years. Next year he will on a 2 stroke bike.

That should increase their exposure.

Question, Why are we talking about Gas Gas motorcycles on the Husqvarna site ?

Nothing wrong with being informed about whats out there. Always fun to talk about bikes in any form to me.

Just a little interesting tid bit about the Gas Gas frame....I saw some frame pics from the factory...

the upper shock mount is mounted in a separate frame member that is welded to a very strong looking support that is part of the lower front downtube...basically the load from the rear shock is isolated from the main spars

the main spars(the B tubing) are now free to allow controlled flex just for the steering head....or at least thats the way I see it

I thought that was pretty crafty.....

Because it is the only offering that gives any real competition to the Husky!

Good eyes Troy:thumbsup:
I think a lot of R & D went into the new frame design. Just adds to a great bike. But now the skid plates made for the Gasser will have to be modified to fit properly. Don't ask how I know.:busted:

A Honda rider would ask such a question. Go figure.

Do you see me talking about Hondas here. No. I go to a more generic board to talk about other bikes. I come here to talk and learn about Husqvarnas. Promoting brands other than Husqvarna here is rude. IMO.
:excuseme: By the way I currently own 3 Husqvarna  and think I have earned the right to be known as a Husky rider, being a former support team rider and one of the few (8 Americans) who finished the 1982 Czech ISDE.

I really don't think Motorhead meant any harm in his comments. Just imagine we are at the local pub all having some beers. A little poking fun is OK right.:D
Just lucky you're not on a KTM.:lol::lol:

Are you saying that KTM is not competition to Husky ? I would say that KTM is probably Husqvarna's closest competion not GG. Not saying GG is bad just a bit less known and less refined. Probably a better choice than Aprilla, Beta, or TM. IMO

BITE YOUR TONGUE ! I got rid of my prototype 350 KTM because of physical reasons but I am now over them and will not go back because of attitudes and jerks. KTMs are not bad but I think Husqvarna has more potential at this time in History.
