• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 District 36 Fools Gold Enduro A 250 Class win

My 2011 TXC 250 led me to an A 250 class win last weeked at the District 36 Fools Gold Enduro. The event took place in Georgetown, Ca which is one of the best riding areas in Northern California. The area consists of rocky, challenging, tight singletrack that almost everyone enjoys. The bike ran perfect as usual. I got off to a great start, quickly becoming comfortable and feeling everything coming together. I was able to push myself all day continue to put up decent test scores. As I log more and more time on these bikes they continue to break in and feel better and better. The suspension could not have handled to rocks more perfectly and the flickability of the new 250s really began to shine in the tighter sections. By the end of the day I finished 1st in the A 250 class and 7th overall, my best finish this season. I even won some Husky bucks****************************************

Thank you to all my sponsors: Husqvarna, Dan and Anne at MotoXotica, MSR, FMF, GPR, IMS, Cycra, Scott, Sidi, WR1 suspension, and DeCal Works

Good job Jake, those Husky Bucks will come in handy. I was on the row behind you riding the Gasgas. Sure was a great event, to bad such a low turnout. Where are you from, where do you ride? I live in Sonora, If you ever want a guided tour of our best single track at Crandle Peak let me know.

The last enduro I did was the Jackhammer 4 years ago...far too long!

And, Nate-Crandall Peak is one of my favorite spots here in CA

Let's go for a ride up there this fall, ok?

Darn, I didn't know the event was last weekend. Since it had been postponed twice, I thought the event was cancelled.
