  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE310 Aftermarket Gas Tank

Husqvarna
A Class
So I picked up a 2010 TE310 and have done a couple of rides, and one of my concerns is the Fuel Tank only being 1.9 Gallons.

So my questions are:
What options are there for aftermarket tanks?
Where can I pick one up at? I am in Corona, Ca.
Is there any additional modifications needed to install, or is it just a plug and play?
Thanks to all!

Some of the IMS tanks leaked arround the fuel pump plate. Use a new gasket and tourque the fuel pump carefully. Not too tight. While you have the fuel pump out, safety wire the pump in it's housing. Seach CafeHusky for instructions. IMS is in Riverside. You can pick up tank right from them. Then you can trim off all the mounting tabs on your shrouds and glue them back onto the tank. No glue really sticks. I used Plumbers Goop and has held up well for two years now. The stock shrouds will not fit any aftermarket tank. Stock tank gives about 45 mile range. IMS about 90 miles.

One more thing Shilo, do you have any close-up pics of your bike. Would like to see it with Glued Shrouds on IMS tank. Thanks.

The early version of the IMS tank was known to leak around the fuel pump area. They now have that corrected with a new mold of the Husky tank. The tank is easy to install, as you just need to install your OEM fuel pump. I was able to mount the shrouds using the OEM tabs with just a little bit of modification to the tabs. Just -Gas-Tanks is in Oceanside Ca and stock the tanks as well.

The IMS tanks for the X-lites matched the shape of the shrouds and had inserts. The tanks for the ITA big blocks did not.

Seems like a lot of work for a marginal increase in fuel capacity. I'm going to carry a few fuel bottles and be done with it. Thanks for sharing the pics, etc.

Well........It increases the capacity 58% and gets the fuel refill distance into the needed range for dual sport rides in Southern CA. And it allows for extra the fuel weight to be carried where it least affects handling. It is a lot of work on a ITA big block. Not so much on an X-lite.

Hey shilo020, I was just wondering why you didnt go with the transluscent one, alot of people say that the black keeps the gas from being as cool as it would in the transluscent. I know i would like to go with the black for looks purposes as well as functionality. Do you notice any change with the bike running warmer?

The translucent one was not available at the time due to more leak problems and I wanted original look as possible. No problems with the bike running warm. And...... no leak for me, so far! The new X-lite tanks do not have the same leak problems.

My new IMS tank is coming just in time. My fuel pump went out this weekend about 15 miles of distance up Palomar Mountain. So ordered new pump and will install it along with my 3.0 tank.
