  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE250 wont even turn on.

Hi,
today my instrument panel stopped working so I unplugged it and plugged it back in
but I think i may have turned the ignition on while it wasnt plugged in
now nothing turns on, no fuel pump, ignition, light the bikes just completely dead
battery has plenty of life

Start relay and fuses seem to be ok but I pulled these 3 relays out where the books claims theres meant to be 3 fuses.

when I test continuity I get nothing between any of the pins on all the 3 of them, does this mean they're no good?
Has anyone had problems like mine before?
Would appreciate any help, lost my job so i'm trying to not take it to the dealership.

I have yet to read of any real malfunctions with the relays on these bikes. I'd go back to the fuses, replace them all, especially the big, 20 amp main fuse that should be very near the starter relay, under the seat.

Also, don't just check for continuity. Check for resistance. One set will probably be open, but the side with the coil should measure some resistance.

those 2 20amp fuses are the only ones i can find and they're both good

i got a bit of resistance on one side of each of them
gonna try and work my way through it with the electrical diagram

You should test the fuses for continuity, better yet, just replace them with a quality automotive fuse. There have been reports of fuses broken inside where you cant see it.
