  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE250 Skid Plate

Husqvarna
A Class
Hi all.
As with most bikes, I didnt find the new original skid plate husky provided with the 2010 protective enough.
So, same as previous times, I ended up building two skid plates (for myself, and the demo bike in at my dealership). I tried to keep with the original design, and improve protection for engine and frame.
Here are some pics:

3 rides on it, and on this next pic you can even notice it already saved a ding on the lower left frame...

Here is the one I did for my previous Husky (08 TE250):

I know... I need to change my sig...

Very nice. I especially like how your skid plate helps protect the frame by the foot pegs. The first time out with my new bike I took a pretty good hit there.

Nice job, looks like it will work. What brand is the Turbo Diesel in the background? Chris

Toyota. Thats the short model. We also have the longer (5 doors) version.

Nice skid plated. Is that a KTM orange rear sprocket on that pretty bike?

Its kinda goldish orange, but not as orange as my friend's ktm. Same brand as the one that comes on the 6 days ktm's models. Got it in Spain last summer for 50 Euros.

That was the exact intenssion. When I got my 08 I was promissed I'll get it with a nice skid plate that protect that area of the frame. Their manufacturer never got arround to make any decent skid plate, nor to my satisfation or theirs... After large hits on both sides, I took action and created the one for the 08. It was 5mm thick and sat there like a glove. They wanted me to manufacture some for them, which I'm still considering, but for now they still deliver bikes with the old stock of what they have.
For the new 250 model, I started making the design on the bike, at the dealership, 2 days before it was ready for delivery (license and such). I built 1 more unit for them (as per their request), which got me an extra discount...

any plans for more 2010 models?? I know i would buy one just for the reason of protecting the wings on the frame,my 2009 TXC have taken a pounding

Accept for the new 2010 250s, the rest 2010 (310,450,510) are the same as the 08/9. So, it looks like I got 2010 pretty much covered. Only thing is I'm still not sure if I want to get into this commercially, but I'm checking on it...

I will need one for my 2010 TXC250, if you make another one ill buy it from you,I dont need one for the 09,its already had the frame squashed:(

Great skid!!!
If you got another one I will buy, no doubt about it.
I have just a minor scratch un my frame, but I have to be very carefull.(you know new bike feeling).
