  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE 450 a little noisy when hot

AA Class
My 10 450 makes a bit more mecanical noise when it gets realy hot, Nothing dramatic but sounds like its comming from the valves/valvecover just did the valves and i adjusted them to 0,15mm on the intakes and 0,25mm on the exhaust, i supose they get a bit tighter when warm ? so should not be the clearence
New oil and filter (Castrol R4 superbike 10W50) Norma as oil gets thinnerl or worth digging more into ?
Read abaut the camchain tensioner but dosent fit the desription on the noise

0.15mm is the maximum for intake, I start trying to get mine tighter when they measure 0.15mm

0.25mm is OVER the maximum for the exhaust.

correct measurements are:
INTAKE
0.004 - 0.006 inches
0.10 - 0.15 mm

EXHAUST
0.006 - 0.008 inches
0.15 - 0.20 mm

When I have to reshim, my goals are thus:
INTAKE
0.005 inches
0.12 mm

EXHAUST
0.007 inches
0.18 mm

Checked the valves again now, i did not have 0,25 on the ex as i wrote, i had been to quick the last time i guess i had a little over 0,20 on one of the ex valves and 0,18-0,20 on one intake, guess that have been the issue,
