  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TC250 for Hare Scrambles/XC

ScottyR

Husqvarna
AA Class
WOW, is that little TC250 just an amazing bike for scrambles/xc races! I just love mine. The TC 250 is truly the best handling motorcycle I have ever ridden and this comes from a guy who also owns a 2010 Berg FE390.

I have put in a JD jet kit with the carb updates, a 2010 WR125 gas tank, JD jet kit and Enduro Engineering revalve on the forks. Otherwise the bike is stock.

This bike has bumped me up a level in riding. I have won my class the last 2 races I have been in and overalled the morning class at an XC race last weekend.

The bike has performed flawlessly. 1st kick on the line. I stalled it 2x and I pulled in the clutch and bump started it once. The other time took 3 kicks with the hot start and away it went.

Everyone is all gaga about the TEs and TXCs but dont overlook the TC. It really, really works great in the woods with minimal mods. I truly believe it is a better choice for a woods racer for the serious guy than the fuel injected bike is.

I have never ridden a Berg but of all the bikes I've ridden I totally agree the 2010 TC 250 is the best handling bike I have ridden. I have rode my son's through the woods and it's crazy good with super light weight and unreal handling. JS you are going to love your TC; congrats. Thanks for your ride report Scotty.

No need in my opinion. I've ridden my TC250 ('08) offroad and I never felt limited with the 5 sp tranny. Depends on your trails though. If you go from total goat trail to wide open 60mph+ fire roads you'll wish for a lower 1st and taller 5th but for most mere mortals the 5sp works fine.

Thx Scott, Sounds like a true woods bike. How do you like the Enduro Engineering revalve job?

The EE revalve works really good. I am the EE Suspension Center for Canada so I am not going to say it is bad. The KYB is pretty close out of the box, but it can be made better without a lot of fuss.

EE has spent a lot of time with Huskys and has the suspension dialed in.

They have the 45/50mm open chamber Zokes working awesome as well.

Why is that? My TXC rips and starts with the touch of the button. Feels lite and handles great. The handling and suspension are not as good as my 09 WR125 but close. Seems in the TXC I need to get up front more to make it turn but I'm sure that has more to do with the wrong spring rates than anything. I will be sending my stuff to LTR soon. Regardless it is a great platform. My twin chamber Zokes are still my favorite.

For XC racing, the carbed kicker will generally light up faster than an EFI bike every time and the availability of a big tank for the TC is a major plus to me.

The TC pulls way harder than a TXC/TE does as well.

good stuff.

I just got my ECU back from the reflash and WOW, runs perfect, no hesitation or stalling and pulls real high gears at low RPM EZ, seems like it has a bit more bottom. Going to love this. For the type of terrain we have here I would not want more. If there was a 300 kit for this bike I probably would not install it. I have no issues hanging with a GG300 or WR250 on it now. Love the motor and will love it more now that i don't have to ride around the hesitation. As for starting I can't see how you could possibly kick a bike and be on your way faster than i can hit the button. This bike starts instantly and will do so in gear no problem.
