  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TC250 Exhaust Options

husk husk

A Class
Hey guys,

new to the forum and it looks great!

What are the aftermarket exhaust options for the 2010 TC250? Want a header pipe with a resonance chamber, Akrapovic looks good but website says coming soon? Doma looks very nice but does it come with resonance chamber?

Thanks in advance,

Lewis

Well Lewis HGS makes a complete exhaust for it but I don't think it has a chamber. I was quoted $799.00 plus shipping. It's my son's bike and he didn't want to spend that much so he went with FMF slip on for $300.00. It hasen't arrived yet but I will be posting up our impressions when it gets here. Devil also has a complete exhaust but I don't think it has the chamber either. BTW welcome to the forum.

Buy the Arrow system from special parts catalog or get the Akrapovic system. They are the best systems out there

The one HGS I saw does have a "powerbomb" style header.

The system from husky powerparts have a powerbomb (TC250 -10)

Part number 8000H2462

We have mounted one on our bikes. Fits great.

Here in Sweden it is cheaper compared to HGS. HGS isn´t Titanium either.

HGS works great also. If talking about power

I have HGS installed and I can say HUGE difference from stock. Correct, it isn't Ti but it only weighs about 10oz more than the stock Ti one.

Looks like we'll be going with the Akrapovic I think. Does anybody know if they are out yet? I rang the UK distributor yesterday and he was meant to phone me back but never did!

FMF should have something for the TXC (TE), very shortly....My TXC 250 has been at FMF for about 2 weeks now for R&D. There will be a Ti system as well as SS, including powerbomb headers etc.

Dave Simon from SSB (March or April DirtBike Mag did a review on his throttle body), is also R&D'ing my bike and will have throttle body for TXC, plus ECU reprogramming to match the system. FMF and SSB are working together, so FMF system with SSB throttle body should make for a sweet combo.

FYI: They are working on a certain top WORCS racers bike and the FMF, SSB combo is getting more power out of a KX450F and they are at 91 decibels, with an unchoked exhaust :applause:

Good things are on the way folks,

Mitch.

P.S. Oh darn, I let the cat out of the bag,:lol::lol:, I could'nt resist....

I have to say it's hard to justify pulling the TC250's stocker off. It's an all Ti affair by arrow.

I rather own a second or third bike. And loose the 1hp gain:busted:

SanDHusky, that is great news on both accounts. Although I have to say that FMF would have had a few more customers if only they could have there tech support guys treat callers a little more polite. 3 calls from me over the past 6 months asking if they are going to offer the power bomb header and then asking if they would consider it in the future. Everytime I got the feeling Chris Hansen from Dateline was going to pop out of the phone.

So have you heard what kind of gains are being achieved from this combo? I would love to know what SSB thought of the mapping and mikuni EFI.

91DB on a KX 450F is incredible.

Yeah, sorry about the customer service....I have no affiliation with FMF, other then they have my bike and are using it to develop the exhaust system for the 250 TXC/TE. The problem was FMF had no 250 to R&D for exhausts. I met Emler and Laporte at the recent Tecate benefit ride and offered up my bike to them, so they took me up on the offer and away it went. I had already been in contact with SSB, so the timing on everything was perfect.

I know SSB was a couple weeks behind with doing other testing, then starting the R&D on the Husky. From reading Dirtbike and with SSB, their system eliminates the low end hesitation, increases power AND reduces overall exhaust noise output. Should have some info this week...

Once it is all dialed in and we get some test loops in, then I will definately post up all the info for everyone.

yep, 91 db, with an open, non sparky exhaust....That is something...

Mitch

Hello guys

We run Husqvarna OEM powerparts (Leovince) with remapped ECU bo on our TE(TXC) Works great. More power every where. Mostly at low and middle RPM range.

Best Regards Klas

I know what you mean, I do really like the Arrow exhaust, but it just isnt very good unfortunately. The bike has bags of bottom end but needs abit more over rev on top, and thats exactly what the Akrapovic pipe gives it. I'm not one for changing an exhaust for looks, only performance. I prefere the look of the arrow, but the Akrapovic performs better. If the hardparts arrow exhaust was cheaper I'd get that.
