  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TC250 backfiring problems

JOXY

Husqvarna
A Class
Hi all,

Since the first time i have rode my bike it has backfired a lot on De-acceleration, We have took it to two different mechanics and they still haven't been able to stop it, i do know that they're supposed to backfire a bit but my is just getting ridiculous.

Has anyone ever had this problem?
And how can i fix it?
Keep in mind that I'm not very mechanically minded

Cheers,
Joxy

Hopefully there is a service manual available online that someone can point you to. It should walk you through step-by-step how to check the valves clearances.

Did you tell me you had a mechanic re-jet it? or did he check the valves too? Am I correct in assuming you don't have the manual for it?

It sucks when you take it to two "professional" mechanics and you get it back with the same problem. It sounds like you may be "mechanically minded" here soon. Someone help this kid! He needs to ride!

Is there a way for you to post a video of the symptoms? That would help someone who knows what they are doing.

We did get a manual but it was very basic, like how to use the clutch and what the throttle does Lol.

Yeah i just got it serviced and tuned, the mechanic said it had a blocked jet and was running to lean... he fixed that but it still backfires :(

And as for a vid, I've only got a phone and you can't even hear it backfiring.

so the manual you got is the standard manual that comes with the bike. There should be a manual out there that breaks down every service into step-by-step instructions with pictures that shows details processes. Keep your fingers crossed, someone with some knowledge should be by shortly.

George was working on his son's TC250 (x-lite)...a 10 or 11 today and did some jetting as the intake showed lean carbon deposits. That or some air leaks could be the problem. Usually lean condition on deceleration pops.
