  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 SMR510 to Dirty SMR510

Ok, that's it. I'll forget that 19" front.. That looks sweet! How much did you grind of the caliper, aprox?

I would say that no more than 40 thousands
and it only needs to be done at the bottom
Also Bill at Bill's motorcycle's plus who sold me the wheel said
that all the 21 inch husky wheels from 2000 to 2010 are the
same and any should fit, there are some on Ebay now with silver rims
mine came from a new 2010 wr

Hmm... some are with 6 brake disc bolts and some have 20mm bearings? Guess they are older then..

I've only looked for 2004+ TE/TC wheel...

Edit : Did Bill mean that all 125-310-410-510-610 TE/TC/WR/WRE 21" wheels/hubs are same... just looking for a final confrimation and buy one from Germany today...

and 25mm bearings on all the bikes 21inch wheels best thing to do is call bill and see if he has any more wheels
he gave me a great price on the new wheel with the karoo mounted might be worth your while

I'm from Finland and not so skilled at speaking english ;) My first goal is to seek one from Europe so I dont have to pay ridicilous shipment costs and tolls(+dont have to wait a month).

Very nice work. Excellent info in this thread and the bike looks great :notworthy:

You think it does well in the dirt now .. wait until you ditch those Karoos and get something more dirt worthy. The Karoo rears are OK but, once that front Karoo wears a bit, it gets squirrelly, even downright dangerous in the dirt  Why Husky ships those as OEM tires on the TE's is beyond my comprehension. IMHO, YMMV, ETC ETC

Start shopping for a new front tire. That fat 150 on the back looks quite nice though.

Here's my process so far, need to get longer chain(and bigger rear sprocket) too:

Monty Carlo Thanks for the heads up on the karoo
and the Kind Words on the bike it is a blast

tuplavee your getten closer

Did a lot of trail riden yesterday and this thing is the best
next project change the spring rate in the front forks
the Super moto springs are way to stiff for me
Also i need to change gearing to 14 50 set up.

ks9mm You should,take a lot of shots
that kind of info is very helpful to those
who want to do a swap it makes things so
much easier

Still no 21" front wheel (but soon will have one).

Got new sprockets and longer chain installed and had to go for a test drive :D

Front is squirreling all the time in soft sand, but still was a lot of fun...

tuplavee That is great, what gearing did you go to
and what difference did you experience
great job
It is so nice to have a dual set up
when you get your front 21 the only thing you will have to do
is mill down the rear of the front caliber so the spokes
wont rub and get a te kick stand, and if you use the stock
rotor bolts on the 21 you will have to open up the holes in the
320mm rotor or if you use the sm bolts you will have to tap the hub
on the 21 to use the larger sm bolts and you will be good to go

Here is my 07 510 SMR. I thought I had posted info on this thread??? The 07s came with a long swing
arm so my 11 TE 250 wheels 21/18 fit. All I had to do is drill and tap the front hub to 8mm and mill a little
off the caliper. The 250 came with a long chain and 50t rear so I am good to go with 14/50 gearing. Still looking for a 06-07 TE kick-stand ?

Enjoy
