  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

i ordered a 12 tooth for my 2010 te250 and received a moose brand sprocket that wasn't close to marrying up. has there been a countershaft change from previous years?

You should have no troubles getting a factory one .. In either more or less chomppers(teeth that is)

dan at motoxotica only saw the stock 13's available from husky. anyone have a line on 12's for the new 250's? the moose sprocket looked good... too, too bad it didn't fit.

getting re-flashed next week... perhaps i'll decide i don't need a 12, but if you saw my clutch-cooking thread...

i took a few minutes to detail the gps info on the steepest, tightest section of that ride:

drop 1,400 feet in 1.4 miles with 30 switchbacks, an "average" 20% grade, but there's nothing average on that trail. then it's the same elev diff/miles coming out the other side but 32 switchbacks, which are actually more climbing turns, so it's definitely easier. thing is, coming back, the first drop described becomes a climb at 80 miles into the ride. writing this sounds like 12 tooth territory, huh?!

We got a 12 tooth Factory OEM Husqvarna front sprocket and www.themfi.com may have another one in stock as they order a extra one of everything we order.. Ask for Billy.. 866.583.9600

gave 'em a call, spoke to fred. they didn't have the sprocket, but they had plenty of stories to tell about you... it was worth the call!

all kidding aside, they appreciate your business through the years.

ended up ordering one through malcom smith.

I'm sure they did..lol And many more in the future as we do a yearly fun ride called the "Wallow in the Hollow" and it is a weekend of organized mayheim...

if you don't find one and need one in a hurry the one I tested on has 10 miles on it and I could give you it for free and just pay the actual shipping.. Just let me know..Thanks.. Chow, Carl

This one is for the 2010 TE 250 It took the bike to making the first gear not useable.. We were hoping it would have made the slight hesitation go away.. It did not. We then went with Ironman rear unit and did a 2 teeth more then stock on the rear unit and that made it a great rock weapon for our race/practice areas..

i assume you mean the off idle hesitation... have you had the reflash yet? sounds like that fixes the low engine speed issue.

how does your terrain compare to what i've described. granted, what i've described is some of the most difficult we have out here. i've wondered what a 12 would do to the rest of the power curve/top end.

Steam,

Yes we are about the same terrain. the cheapest is one down on front and will get what your looking for if you had the reflash done.. Our # 159 is out of the range by the factorys list but I still believe it needs to be flashed..

So for us it made matters worse then better

not sure i followed all that, but given that i ride a slower cross between enduro and trials i think the 12 will be an asset. how can we do this?

yes, dan got the re-flash in, but needed to upgrade (ibeat, i think) to be able to re-flash correctly. he's been testing it on his personal bike so we don't have to be guinea pigs.

thanks for the education... i live a sheltered life, so i rely on y'all to bring me up to speed.

do you know who the manufacturer is?
