  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Dude You be Da man you will have a blast let me know how it is going
Be sure to get your oil and oil filters stocked up
and see about a ibeat cable and software to tune your bike
Thats great man if ya need any help let me know.

hey man just took delivery of my bike on monday thing is borderline scary, seeing how it was getting cold up here i had them dial this thing right in. i told him to tune it like it was his bike. just wanted to get some seat time in before snow hits, so incredibly stoked cant be happier. i am not werthy:notworthy:****************************************!

sside note. is the rear brake disk supposed to have play in it where it mounts to the hub dosnt seem right. and drips 2 drops of oil on the shop floor after every ride.

Dude I am stoked for ya
1. The rear rotor is a floater it is supposed to do that
2. When mine was new it leaked a little oil you will have to check
the engine case bolts they will loosen up you will need a inch pound torque wrench to do this right,
change that oil and filter at 100 miles and check your torque on the case bolts and the motor mount
bolts, after about 4 oil changes mine stopped leaking and dry as a bone now 3000 miles and the bolts
don't get loose any more.
3. Did they do the power up for ya does it still have the O2 sensor in it and when you take off the seat
can you see the air filter, green Twin Air if so they did the power up.
4. After it gets broken in it is more than borderline scary it is flat out scary
Good Luck my brother any thing I can do just let me know.

Some updates for my SMR510:

-My meter malfunctioned after bike being exposed to rain recently but it came back to life after some riding, guessed its just water messing up the connections.
- Changed my front rotor to EBC since the stock warped badly.
- My full Arrow titanium factory exhausts with ECU has arrived :)

-Plug and play, will tune it up with iBeats tomorrow.
-11300km mileage in still running strong!

Mr. X thats great let us know
how the arrow's and the new ECU work out
that ECU should be dialed in perfect from the get go.

hear she is..... horrible pic but did from i phone while at work ill get more later.....they did the full power up kit, what do they recommend for break in as far as rpm and stuff. smr.JPG

As far as break in, no full throttle for the first 300 miles
change the oil and filter at 100,300 and 500 miles
check your valves at 500 miles
after that just change the oil every 500 miles and I would check the valves
at 1000 mile intervals
One other thing get rid of the check valve in the fuel cap vent hose it is the
little green and gray plastic thing in your fuel cap vent hose, mine was the
source for trashing 2 fuel pumps other than that you might want 2 remove the
cats and restrictive plate in the mufflers you will see what I mean the cans get real hot
and don't breath as well with them in. the bike runs a lot better with the cans opened up
It looks just like mine when I first got it
Did you get it from heinen's

had them ship it out, where did you get the stopper that is on your fuel vent cap, i cut my check valve off as soon as i got it i read that i a couple threds. how do i order parts from the special parts catalog?

To order parts from special parts catalog get the part number of the part you want
and call any husky dealer they will be able to get them for ya then ship them to ya
My dealer is motohio phone 614-759-6686 parts guys are Kurt or Roberto
they are very fast and ship out the same day they come in.
you can look them up www.motohio.com
my check valve is off my rm125 it is a aftermarket

thanks, will they have a price list for the catalog.

Yes they can give you the price over the phone

Another heads up: The hose coming from your valve cover
and going to your air boot you want to disconnect it plug the hole in the air boot
and get a small line filter for the hose then route the filter next to the top
of your rear shock
you don't want to re burn those crank case gases, they will contaminate the fresh air fuel load
and it will make for a less of a bang, and I would also recommend that you run 94 octane fuel
also check the vacuum port right above the cam chain tensioner and mack sure that
they caped it off or plugged it when they removed the charcoal canister for the power up
process or you will have a vacuum leak which can cause a lean condition
you can get this check valve from Pro Cycle also

How does the wide rim handle in the dirt? I have an extra set of 17s for my 08 Sm but the rear is so wide my dirt tire looks square. I think I will swap the front 17 hoop onto the rear and get a 19" for the front.. What size front are you running?

Thanks!

It handles real well, you want a 150 size dirt tire for the rear
the front is a 90/90/21
the bike is real tall with the 21 front and 17 rear
I cant imagine the height with a 18 or 19 rear and 21 front
I would have trouble getting on and off

what is this pro cycle website, also they have plugged the evap canister hole in the head. i need to get those mods going we just got a freak snowstorm and it dumped 14 inches

14 inches of snow man
google pro cycle then go to the suzuki dr650 section the filter and the check valve is in there
let me know how you do

Looks like my meter gone haywire after heavy rain. Anyone knows how much a new stock meter cost? or should I just install Vapor instead?
And a look of how the titanium exhausts midpipe blings up after some riding.
002M001m2K-.jpg

No heaty legs, cans are way cooler and lighter, a significant change in acceleration smoother throttling.

and yes 14 inches of snow bummer!! and what kind of pipe is that looks serious, also tech 3 what did you do to your tail light section i slimmed mine down some but yours looks compact. where dose the evap canister pipe into the ead so i can make sure they capped it.
