  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 510smr Daily Rider

dose the bike have to be tuned at all to run with the single can?

Ratty Wheat I run a A/F mixture gage on my SMR and when i changed to the single
can did not have to change a thing,I even cut down the can 4 inches and still
good to go

Sorry to hear about the old bike
When you get your new bike are you going to go with a SMR or a te
What is left to the old bike.

Trying to find smr 2010 450 or 510 don't want used again but very hard to find brand new 510. Nothing left of old bike bent the neck in on the frame so bad, the forks were straight. Car pulled a u turn so I tried to lay it down but ran out of room made impact at 42 mph at least the last time I looked at the speedo.

i never had a road going bike so in april i was shopping for a sm road bike band new, i bought a klx 250 sf brand new for 4 grand from troy city garage. as soon as i got on it i was pissed cuz it was a dog, i put head pipe, jet kit, muffler and still a slug. so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that my bike was totaled. i paid cash for it and if i sold it i would have lost my shirt, good thing i had good insurance.

Well as long as you walk me thru tuning sounds like a fun winter project. Do you know how much shipping will cost.

Tuning is a piece of cake
as far as shipping you will have to contact them
I know they advertise them on Ebay selling new for $6200
Thats how I found mine

Yeah I'll email the dude who runs the place and get some specifics. Now that tuning set up that you have what's that set ya back? I know I've read a couple threads that say if they ship the bike they don't even do anything but pack the bike up and send it, I'm thinking That installing the power up kit would be awesome have a nice shop just waiting for a new husky.

Ratty Wheat save the money on the set up
do all that your self do your own power up
theres nothing to it.
You will want to buy a ibeat set up cable and software $300.00
so you can change your fuel settings and be able to diagnose
the condition of your bike.
What are you going to use the 510 for.

just riding around town, to and from work when im not lazy in the morning. my buddy and i used to go for a 75 mile ride every saturday. rather have the power and not need it than need it and not have it. allready made that mistake.

For just riding around town and taken puts out in the country Thats
what I use mine for as far as power man it is crazy power for a lite bike.
I just got a dirt set up also so I can go play off road which I like a lot.

The only thing I would not recommend is free way speeds 65 70 for long
periods of time, the manual says to avoid this, although the bike will do it
from a mechanics perspective It will shorten the life of the engine.
I would highly recommend the race maintenance schedule and change
the oil and filter every 500 miles, There is a few other little things you should
do but it is no big deal and a small price to pay to get to ride such a bike on the
street. On the street in Super Moto dress this thing is a blast to ride,
So far out on the trails or in the woods with the knobby set up it is also great fun
You will appreciate the quality that is built in to this bike and the power Is
scary fast when you want it, and docile as a Honda 50 cub when your just putten around
going to pick up a loaf of bread from the store. I just cant Say enough good things
about the Husky.

heah i cant say i really drive on the freeway that much and if i did its not going to be on a bike. how fast will these things go my old bike did about 80 maked out sounded like a big sewing machine.

From what I have read they will top out at 120
I've had mine up to 95 and that was enough for me
And it does not take long at all to get there
shifting at 8500 it happens quick at 95 I still had a hoe lota mo left.
Now that I have my dirt set up I just put around 40 to 50 mph
most of the time I dont even hit six gear
That's enough for This old man I have entered geaserdom
now I just work on them and watch other people go fast.

Well I plan on taking it easy... Maybe. And I just will mess around with it this year just bought a house with a big shop.

The dirt set up is a blast
new gearing should be in this week

just ordered my new husky having it shipped out to me. im amped!!

Dude You be Da man you will have a blast let me know how it is going
Be sure to get your oil and oil filters stocked up

Thats great man if ya need any help let me know.
