  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey friends, what are the signs and symptoms that the bike need to undergo valve clearance immediately?

If the valves clearance is too loose they will make noise
if they are too tight and not closing all the way you will
have hard to start issues

Valve clearance (with engine cold)
Intake .................................................. ........0.004 ÷ 0,006 in. ( 0,10 ÷ 0,15 mm)
Exhaust........................................... .............0.006 ÷ 0,008 in. ( 0,15 ÷ 0,20 mm)

Maybe these help

Thanks, that helps. So far i dont have any problems starting.
What kind of noises actually? coming from the engine area or the exhaust sound sounding different?

Up date: new fuel pump
The new fuel pump from CA-Cyclewerks died, had to put the old pump
back in, I will see if there is any warranty on this pump or not

No just a failure
But i contacted CA Cyclewerks and they were right on it
Sent me out a new pump the same day no charge
and the owner Chris talked to me on the phone for a while
to find out what exactly went wrong They are working on perfecting this pump
This is good news for husky owners, They already upgraded the pump from
original now they are going through another upgrade, The company is trying to make the pump
the best it can be, I definitely will do business with this company again
If you need to replace your fuel pump go to CA Cyclewerks They will do you right.

Thanks for the info. I shall be making my order of the fuel pump next month even though my stock one is doing fine. Just in case...

Done my valve clearance. definitely better throttle response and smoother engine braking. Now to solve the problem of my super hot midpipe!
