  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Does any one know where you can get this plastic or the graphics
or would would you have to have them made
I like it better than the white my self
If you want those black ones, call a Husky dealer and ask for a full set of 2008 SM450"RR" graphics. Make sure you specify its the RR graphics from '08... that's the only year of the black

Let us know what they say. Chances are you'll have to wait for them to come from a warehouse, or possibly from Italy.

JR i ordered a set from my husky dealer will be about a week
ordered black plastic to put them on from us plastics
still no word on the white plastic graphics from the uk yet
but i am glad guscycle posted that picture

Went back to revisit my can's now that i have had time to ride the smr
with the opened up cans to see how i like them to decide weather they
would stay or go, well it's a stay man these things sound awesome not
loud but deep and they can breath,so now it's time to finish the job i started
I took the cans back apart and welded the can to the end cap where i had to
cut it to get the cat out, then re wrapped the can and put HI TEMP RTV on the
end to make a seal slid the outer can over the inner can riveted it shut and done
This a great mod for the stock can's,it doesn't get as hot,it can breath and
it's not loud just right for me anyway.

Up Date, The new graphics came in from the UK today
I am still waiting on the 2008 RR graphics, I already got the black plastic,
After a long ride today It's time to get a ibeat, I've been watching my air fuel ratio
and it's not good, rich and lean spots every where i need to dial it in, It is time
I've got 1300 miles on the clock I think it is broke in by now

Update: The 2008 Black Graphics came from Husqvarna and i got the black
plastic tank and side covers I installed the graphics and they look great
But the edges keep pealing up they are not sticking to the plastic
the dealer said that they had that problem with the graphics coming loose
and there was nothing that could be done,he did give me $26.00 dollars off of
another parts order so i only got hosed for about $140.00 next i am gonna contact husqvarna
and see what they have to say, If the graphics wont stick they should quit selling them.
I would not recommend any one buy there graphics from Husqvarna, I contacted the People who
made my white graphics in the UK and they said they could make me the 2008 SMRR graphics
so i ordered a set from them they should be in this week. The white graphics they made are
perfect and you cant pull them off with a pair of vice gripes (now thats what I'm talk en about).

Motor update:
1700 miles on the clock now I bought a ibeat and set up the A/F and throttle
plate sensor and the bike runs great
BUT: the second week i had the bike coming back from a long ride in the middle of traffic
the bike just shut down i pushed it off the road and tried to re start but could not hear the
fuel pump running let the bike set and cool down and the fuel pump would run started
the motor and rode the bike home ran fine the whole way 75 miles.
The bike ran fine up until yesterday when i took a ride and the bike shut down again,no
pump, same thing let the bike cool down and the pump started up again what a drag
I think the pump is going out i have been lucky twice maybe next time it will be three
strikes and you are out.
Of chores husqvarna is not going to warranty any thing until it quits for good
then it will have to go to the dealer and set there for two weeks maybe more before
any thing will happen. NOT!
My solution is to get a pump from CA cycles and carry it with me along with the tools
so when it fails i will change out the pump on the road, wait till winter and then
let them warranty the pump then. any thoughts would be great thanks.

I kind of liked it all white! I think that's how I'm going to do my TE with just some hints of red. Maybe a plane red Husky logo on the shrouds. I debated on painting the frame red, but I think I'm going to leave it white now.

Messed around on MS Paint once and did this.

The all white is sweet that looks good

Update:
Just got off the phone with husky and they said pertaining to the graphics
that it was up to the dealer, the dealer said they could not do anything = Hosed!
#2 told them about the fuel pump and they said there was only a thirty day warranty
and it was up to the dealer what they wanted to do about it.
Looks like we are on our own here, glad that this site is here or we would be doubled hosed.

I hear you on the graphics complaints. My stock graphics on my 08 TE peeled up all around the edges. very cheap

The graphics i got from the UK at LR-Designs are awesome, Perfect
and the same price range as the factory graphics, I know my 2010
came with the new plastic with the graphics molded in to the plastic,
now that was a good move. O well time to move on and suck it up
I just had to follow through to see if Husqvarna would stand behind
There product.
