  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

And now for a body change new plastic from Husqvarna
HIW2.jpg

Ordered some new graphics from the UK not here yet
The only thing more will need to be done is bring the air fuel ratio in line and we should
be good to go.
680 miles and two oil changes so far the only repair was fuel pump slipped up, had to
tie it back down other than that perfect, valves so far right on.

Pretty

I like that. Powder coat on the swingarm and ceramic on the exhaust? Or high temp powder on the exhaust?

How does your Air/fuel gauge work? Is it hooked up to a probe in the throttle body or something?

It is a innovate motor sport LC-1 wide band O2 sensor that screw's into
oxygen sensor bung where the original sensor went on the mid pipe
look up innovate motor sports LC-1 it will tell you all about it
we have been using this unit for about 4 years to set up carbs and tweak the F/I

B_M_F The only thing this unit does is read your air fuel ratio in real time.
AS a tuner i use the AFR gage to read the air fuel ratio at idle and all
throttle openings then go in to the ecu and make adjustments then look at the gage again
and see the results of the adjustments, with the goal of achieving certain A/F numbers.
you will still need a i beat or a PCV to make these adjustments.
Hope this is helpful

Tech 3,

When you reply to someone's quote, make sure you reply after their quote, not in it. That way everyone knows what's goin on

thanks i will order one asap im only getting 40 miles per stock tank on my 08 450 with pu kit any ideas?

No prob man  just helping out.

Husky made RR models 2006-09. '06-07 were the early generations and only a 450. '08-09 was the new generation with the 530 only available in '09. This was a worldwide thing... and there wasn't ever a 510RR. The one above is an '08 450. In 09, the RR's had white graphics. I kinda dig the black '08 graphics a bit mire than the white ones. Hope that clears things up :D I sure wouldn't mind a 450RR. A while back here in the states there were a few leftover 450 and 530RR's that came out of no where and sold for cheap. $8,000/$8,500 cheap.. I sure wish I had taken the chance to get one..

B_M_F when you get the AFR gage you will be able to tell in what areas
you might be running rich, you can lean out those rich area's for more MPG
I did a 170 mile ride on my SMR the other day and i noticed that there were
definitely spots that could be leaned out. I also have the PU kit I can go about
60 miles be four i really need to find gas i run completely out at around 70 miles
it happened during the 170 mile ride, my fuel light comes on at around 50 miles
and it is best to start looking at that point.

AND YES THAT RR IS SUPER SWEET I really like the black

So far mine seems to make the most power around the 12.9 to 13.2 range
but thats a guess (BUTT) Dyno, The bike just turned over 1000 miles
gonna try to do some dyno runs next week and i will find out

i think a vinyl guy could do it up pretty cheap its just the side # plates and the rad shrouds.

What fuel management are you using tech3?

B_M_F I found the plastic and graphics
as far as fuel management i will probably go with a PCV
