  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 250f devil exhaust

g'day folks
i was wondering what is the best exhaust for the budget i have. my bike is a 2010 te 250. i have heard on other forums that hgs and devil exhausts tend to make more power than the other exhausts and they are also cheaper. the problem that im facing is which one to choose. i know that the leo vince silencer with the mapping is going to cost me $1400 AUD which is a bit dear. i had seen the full devil exhaust which will only cost me $800 AUD but this doesn't have the mapping part come with it. is that a problem? also will the tc 250 hgs exhaust fit on my te 250.
and does any one know the hp increases with both of these exhausts.
cheers!!

We have tried both and both work good!! Out of the two I would say you get a better overall power gain from the HGS. I have just taken a couple of vids of both so you can hear the sound and will post them on Youtube now and post the link soon. Hope that helps!

I am sort of in the same boat right now. The ECU will be tuned for the more free flowing exhaust to gain power. From the history of HGS exhaust I am sure it is hard to beat on a performance standpoint. It is like you can't have your cake and eat it too. I would think that the TC exhaust would fit but if anyone out there is sure please do tell. If you go with the HGS TC exhaust you will not have a O2 plug in the headpipe, not that I need that.

You need the race ecu if you gonna change silencer.
The swedish importer tried the hgs system for tc 250 -10 on a te 250 -10. The bike did lose some bottom and midrange, and was running very strong on top. But Te 250 with leo vince slip-on and the race ecu make bike stronger from bottom to top.

Thanks Peter, that is what I was thinking. I am going to stick with the original plan and get the Leo/ECU combo.

i had a look on devil exhausts site and the exhaust that is for my 2010 te 250 has no o2 plug for it either. but is there a way to use i beat to tune the devil exhaust rather then buying just a slip on silencer with the mapping already with it.

Elliot, when you'r in race mode, you dont need the o2 anyway, you set the CO through ibeat. However, what Husky sell as the Meo replica (Leo Vince + ECU) isn't just an ECU with s different fuel settings for that silencer. That ECU has settings in it that can't be approached through iBeat such as ignition map. The silencer itself, I'd guess, is probably as good as any free flowing silencer out there.
