  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 2009 WR125 Part sourcing issues

Husqvarna
Hello all,

I recently picked up an 09 wr125 in boxes completely torn apart with the hope of repairing and restoring the bike to get it ripping on the trails again.

I’ve run into a few issues with sourcing parts, but have found almost everything needed for the rebuild.

One of the previous owners tore down the engine and split the cases. In doing so, he somehow managed to misplace the 2nd driven gear on the countershaft. I tried to order a replacement, but the gear is no longer being produced and I can’t find any used transmissions on ebay or anything….

I figured I would jump on the one and only husky cafe to ask if anyone had recommendations on how to source these older parts that are no longer produced.

Thanks for any and all feedback. It is much appreciated!

You will probably just need to be patient and vigilant, and wait till you can find a donor bike with other problems to be able to get parts. 09 through 2013 are probably going to be the same engine. Cross reference parts lists to see if earlier bikes part will work.

I have a complete transmission including shift forks and drum. Pulled out of a 2012 WR125 and replaced with the actual WR tranny from 2000 I believe. PM me if you are interested.

I was thinking about you after I posted my reply to Cookies, wondering if you had any parts.:busted:
