  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I think its time to rebuild the top end after 4 years of Enduros on the stock top end. Do I just do a piston and ring or do I do the 310 ?

Im not worried about my class ,I ride Vet Im not sure of the hours either, I just know the beginning of last year I checked the valves and they where still in spec. Depending on price I would like to go 310 kit. Who has them and does anyone have a price range on either task?

Just a guess from other bikes I would say about $900 in parts. That with a brand new cylinder. With other bikes I've found it for as low as 650 but you probably won't have that luxury with a husqvarna. I suppose you could get the stock cylinder bored out but with just that and the nikasil coating it pulls probably work out to about the same. It may even be worth selling the current bike and then using the extra grand to get a newer 310.

i would say if it is only a 50 hr or so bike you could probably just ring it.if it is a 100 hour or more bike a piston is probably due.dan

On a guess I would say it has more like 400-500hrs now that I think about it. Doesn't anyone on here stock the 310 kit?

You could try motoexotica, bills motorcycles plus, and halls cycles. They are all site sponsors and tend to have a lot in stock. I'd give each a call for pricing and availability.
