• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2009 TE510 Starter/Kill switch

Hello,
I am searching for the starter/kill switch part for a 2009 TE510. I have looked in the parts catalogue (Part no 8000H0367 Ed. 09-2008) and the part doesn't even appear in the handlebar diagram (on page 118) so I assume it is specific to my region, Australia.

However, this kind of switch appears on many other makes, but with a slight difference e.g. KTM. I could buy the KTM switch from Sicass Racing here:

http://sicassracing.com/store/produ...hes/ktm_start_kill_switch_2004-12_various_ktm

However, this is the non-lock down version. I am pretty keen to get the lock down version of the switch, the same as the original. The reason is because leaving the switch with the circuit closed slowly drains the battery. I'd prefer to replace the switch so that the circuit is open when it is in the off position (not locked down).

Despite hours of searching, I have been unable to find this switch, so I am hoping some good sport might give me a few tips. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks!

You're looking for the switch that is on the right hand side, right?

My TE610 (2006) has a start/kill switch with the "lock-down" kill. Part number is 8000 A5714, $55 from Hall's. I don't know about availability.

Can't be sure it's what you're looking for, but it looks very similar to the one at Sicass you linked to.

Found this picture on google; looks just like this: http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/9223/dsc00097.jpg

Hope this helps!

Is that your original switch on the left? You can turn your headlight off!
