  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey Kerry,

Good to see you picked up a Husky.

From this post it looks like you should have no problem running HID's and grip heaters.

I was just reading through the repair manual and saw a graph made for stator output. The 08 TE and SMR makes;

168 watts @ 2000 RPM

203 watts @ 4000 RPM

217 watts @ 6000 RPM and a maximum of

224 watts @ 10,000 RPM

It actually reads in amps @ 14 volts and you have to convert it.

It is on page M14 (page 294 of the pdf).

Don't forget to write up your first ride impressions. Its always good to get a female perspective. Must be getting a wee bit chilly out your way now.

Hey Kerry,

Te-250

Just getting started on this whole Husky thing. 1st on list need to lower bike even more. Put a kouba link on and dropped forks, still not enough ,thinking about 2-3" front and rear. Tires are horrible, while they look like my old favoite S-12's ,they are not. They hook up like a bald chengshin in the red clay we have around here .Got some motoz's to try out ,that should lower it some too as stock michelen has a tall profile .Stockers will be good for DS this summer .Got some radiator gaurds from Kelly (one ride too late), found a used motosportz skidplate, that will get a lot of use after lowering. Not going to comment much on power/suspension at this point as it is still getting broke in. We both love the looks of the bike, wife wanted to bring it in house. That's a first! Too much stuff going on to get much riding in, but that will change. Kerry
