  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sounds like a nice find mate.

I'd suggest you clean and flush out fuel tank and fuel line and replace the fuel filter. Hopefully the fuel injector's not gummed up. If it is it can be cleaned out, you'll find how people have done it with a search on this forum.

Once it's running you should replace brake fluid and fork oil, grease linkages, swing arm and head stem bearings. A shock service would be a good idea too.

FYI a lot of parts for your bike can be sourced from SWM (RS500R). There are some differences but most are the same.

I cant seem to figure what these wires are for ? I looked at wiring diagrams etc no luck ?

Were you able to locate the connector for the optional double-mode button (8000H0590) behind the headlight? If not, these wire might be from that button connector. I'm not able to find it on the wiring diagram, so I cannot confirm the wire colors, but it is actually there...

Should I worry about the water pump seals or wait and see ?

I pulled off the water pump cover and looked very clean no oxidation etc

Without the switch it will automatically select mode SEL1, which is the full power mode. Personally I don't ride in conditions where I would like to have LESS power. So I don't miss it...

Ok,

I have set my tps and wot to 100.2

Just wondering what people recommend for the CO values. Mine are all 100.
