  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 TE450 tuning

HELP! I need to get my 08 TE450 tuned with I-Beat but have had no luck finding a dealer or tuner from Montana, Idaho, Washington or Oregon that can do this procedure. I have clicked on many of the links on other posts to get me to find where I can buy the I-beat but they say “sorry page not available”.

Can anyone help with a dealer that can do the tuning or where to buy an I-beat? I am willing to drive even to California from Montana if needed to get this bike running as it should if that is my last option.

My bike has the power up kit with an UpTite pipe and silencer, starts even when cold without the choke and idles very well. When running at light constant throttle it acts lean. On deceleration it backfires and does stall out a little more than I think it should. Things I have done to make it run a tiny bit better. Make sure I have 95 octane, run a 1 step colder plug and run double filer skins on air filter to try and choke up some air flow.

Thanks for any information that might help.

Happy Riding!

This cable interfaces with the bike.

This should be the cable from the computer to the above Husky adapter.

Search this site for iBeat download.

You will need a 32 bit version of Windows running. Clever people can use an emulator, I bought an old, cheap XP laptop that does the job.

Connect up and you can read any fault codes and modify the fuelling.

No, it needs to be disconnected and PU resistor fitted. Then you can change the CO values. With PU it operates open loop, without feedback.

I have a question to you. I have interface OBDII HEX-V2 to my Audi with VCDS. So I need only connector? And what software I need?
