• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2007 te510 clutch plate help.

A Class
Hi all, if anyone has info on a good place to buy clutch friction plates for my 2007 te510, please post the info.
I am having a hard time finding plates for the 2007 model year.
And the 2008 plates are smaller , i have already tried them, big waste of time and money on my part.
Even the part number might help me turn up sources.
Thanks in advance riders.
Wayne.

I'm pretty sure all the years use the same friction plates, maybe you got the wrong plates the first time around. I've got a used Rekluse out of an '07 TE and new clutch plates off of ebay for an '08 all stuck in my '05 TE. When looking up aftermarket clutches, they all seem to be the same for 1999-through 2010. My '05 and '09 have the same autoclutches in them.

yea , its a little frustrating, i was sure at least 06-09 were the same.
going to give it a try to contact seller and see if i got sent the wrong plates.
thanks.

Need at ask again.

Hi all, i never got any help from the place i received the last non fitting plates from, so i am back to ask here again.
I have heard so many things like some Honda plates mic out the same, but no real info.
If you can help me out with a part number for replacement fiber plates for a 2007 TE510, please respond.
Surely someone has replaced their clutch with aftermarket parts.
Thanks in advance.

I just checked Barnett's website and they seem to list clutch plates only for an 08. Maybe that is when they started to make plates for late models. You could call or e-mail them if you are curious about them.

Yep, did that and they did not support the 07.
I took a chance and ordered the 08 listing.
For the record the 08 plates sent from barnetts are the ones that did not fit.

I still dont understand if the '07 is different how come things like a Rekluse fit for 99-10? The baskets have to be the same, you would think the discs would be the same but I guess not.

Yea me too.

I don't understand ether.
I have always been able to pick from at least a couple of kits or plate manufactures to replace a clutch.
I have done many clutches on friends bikes, atvs and my machines.
The inside diameter was just a little smaller on the replacement plates, but would not fit on the basket.
I still wounder if i got sent the wrong plates, but getting a refund was hard enough, getting support was going to be out of the question.
I still wounder if the old HPK-39A or new 301-35-10012 is still the right size.
I am considering a reckluse but at this point wounder if i would have a fitment problem with that.
I would really like to here from more owners of a 2007 te510 model.
Some online suppliers offer single plates for sale, i might just order one
301-35-10012 to settle this once and for all.
If i am going to pay close to 200.00 for oem plates including shipping, i might just suck it up and get what i would be happy with the Reckluse.
Buy the way unless i am reading the parts list wrong i think the husky part number is 8A00 A0611, not 8000 A9764 as posted last.
Please excuse me if for some reason i still have it wrong, but thats what i am seeing on the 2007 pdf.
Surly someone has ran into this problem before, would really like to hear from you.
Thanks , Wayne.

OK, now that's some real info.
Know we know that the plates in question are not unique to the husky.
I would have really been surprised outherwise.
Why would a manufacture have something as simple as clutch plates made for an everyday bike.
I will work with this info and post my findings, like bet you can get plates for a honda much less than a Aprilia.
Thanks for all your help, i did not even think to look at DK.

Anyone been able to get some further clarification regarding the clutch discs in the pre 08 bikes to the post 08 bikes?

Denis Kirk lists the same Adige Racing part number for both the 06 and the 08, however Denis Kirk does not list the Pro X 2008 versions as fitting in the 2006. Further, the husky part numbers are different for the 06 models compared to the 08.
