Who makes parts for these awesome bikes and where do I get them?
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Plenty of aftermarket piston kits, bearings, plastics etc.
Hard parts try Halls, Bills & several euro suppliers.
Wat u chasing mate?
Your location as in country would help get you to a good spot since shipping can be a killer.
Mandurah, WA
Tyres for bikes(Perth husky) in vic park should be able to get wateva u need provided it's not on back order. Bunbury city motorcycles(bunbury dealer) too. Iv bought a few things from em last 6 months(gasket kit, orings, chain slider cup washers). Sheila there is very helpful. They jus look up parts fiche, get part number n order from Perth warehouse. R&d husky over east is pretty good too. Best to just pick up the phone n ring em direct mate
Otherwise it's over to the US or Europe for sumthn in particular they mitn be able to get in a decent timeframe here.
I am guessing WA is Western Australia, not Washington state, US ?
I bought my pegs off Ebay
Sorry missed the first post
Halls cycles n bills motorcycles plus r 2 good dealers in the US of A that can get almost anythin u nd at reasonable prices. Site sponsors too! Wish we had dealers here like them!!!
As for shifter n pegs, ebay is your friend. I'm runnin an rfx shifter which set me back $40 del from UK.
Rfx, driven, moose/msr(I think) n plenty other brands too that make em. Same engine since 98(shift shaft n design same?) so pretty broad selection. Same deal with pegs mate ebay search will bring up plenty. I'm gonna try sum alloy jobbies from savage mx wen I got sum spare $
Motosportz husqvarna(motosportz mike on here) had sum stock looking steel replacement pegs but dunno wat postage from US cost. Fastway make nice ones too but exy!
Basic engine same since then different cylinder ports n other bits n pieces. I know the countershaft is the same but double check the shifter shaft to be sure. Can't imagine it would of changed but could hav!Cool, thanks for the info mate. I didn't know the shift shaft was the same as the '98.
