  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2006 TE510 brake light issue

Ruffus

Husqvarna
AA Class
Does anybody know the color code for the wires that activate the brake light?
Mine isn't functioning. hard to tell if it's not coming on, or it's on & not shutting off.
I'm guessing the color's are yellow & green at the connecter plug at the back of the harness., but not sure.

Kinda embarrassed that this took so long, but finally got my butt in gear & after ripping apart most of the brake wiring harness, I found the culprit.
The little micro switch for the front brake has two plastic mounting tab's. One of them broke off causing the switch to tilt back away from the lever contact point. For now I just crazy glued half a locking tab from a "Ziptie" on the back end until I get a new one.

Most likely caused by my too many to count spills.:D

So if anyone has the same problem with the brake light being on all the time, it's a quick simple check there first. Of course I started at the back end & worked my way to the front.:banghead:

That's a common cause: making it seem like the brake light doesn't light up(when actually its just not shutting off). Sometimes they just pop out- sometimes the 2 tabs break off.
Same as KTM- I have replaced with Switch from Brembo Dealer: http://www.yoyodyneti.com/

I broke that switch on my bike almost 1 1/2 seasons ago and zip tied it. It's been that way ever since. :)

Does this mean we're riding this weekend? I'll only have 1 of the two days available. Likely Sunday. LMK.
