  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2000 TE 410 E carb issue

I have a 2000 TE 410 E that starts great and idles great full choke when you start the bike, on down to when it's warmed up no choke. Problem is, you touch the gas and she dies. Any thoughts on where to start on this one before I start chasing ghosts? Bike only has 175 miles on it. Thanks!

I too have a 2000 TE410E. That's great that it has low mileage. From time to time I have issues with the choke so make sure your cables are working properly for both choke and throttle. Check the idle screw on the carburator (though that should not be an issue). Make sure your carburator is clean. A bike that old with low mileage it could be possible to have trash in the carburator. Check the bowl, jets and float on the carb since the bike might have been sitting for a long time. I hope this was helpful. Keep me posted. Not too many of us have these older bikes. Glad to see that someone has a twin.

Hey I have the triplet.... :)

I have a 2000 TE410 that I just got back from the shop after needing a new stator/flywheel. (corrosion is a beach).

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread...

 That is awesome!! Not many of us have this year bike. Don't think there are too many around. It's nice to see another.

Hi did you get this sorted? Im having problems with mine, i seem to have rubber tubes not connected to anything and id like to have a shematic of where things connect to. Im pulling my hair out trying to start this bitch.
