• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2000 Model YZ125 - Still awesome

That's good to know. The only KTM I ever rode that I liked was a 250sx two stroke. Maybe I would like the SX150 or 125.

BTW the 2005 YZ125 is identical to the 06-2016 except for the SS close chamber forks started in 06 and they changed small things like plastics an graphics or added a couple mm to the front brake rotor. I have a bigger front rotor added to my 08 then all the yz450fs and the brakes still aren't as good as the Brembos on my 09 wr250 Husky. I think a Brembo MC would make it awesome.

Steinke finished around 30th on a yz and the same on the KTM. Maybe with some more time he can get in the 20s which would be amazing on a 125 vs 250fs. If the AMA would allow 150cc 2ts to compete I think it would be fair.

Good luck to him and maybe he can get a bike under him he can top-out his skills on ...

I've seen a few times where riders race older against newer model bikes and the suspension always holds the older bike back so it needs work pretty quickly if you wanna try to go with the newer models ... No reason to let the different type bikes race each other than the fans .. I was wanting efi on 2t bike for this reason but it ain't gonna happen... Once an organization gets really big, it is just business then. Ama or whoever ...
