• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2 Stroke Nationals April 1 Glen Helen

got email in to Jody and MXA crew to seek it out. Those guys love 2 strokes and are stoked about the Husky resurgence.

OK My truck is loaded and Tomoro morning I will go to Glen Helen Think I will mount the Go Pro backward to show how SLOW the 144 are compaired to the Walt Smith 165 After turn one it will try to keep up

Awesome. Good luck man.

John just have fun and be safe out there. I just came back from a couple hours on a local MX track, like you its not really for me. Just need to pretend you are on a trail railing through the dez.
Ryno should be there ready for the overall on a YZ250 or bored one, you will be among some very fast company both on and off the track watching.

OK Here we go Like I said I hate motocross We got 1 lap for pratice then about 2 12 min moto. But desert racers will race anything unlike the motor cross guys who will not leave sight of there truck.Anyway signed up Mag expert against a bunch of really fast motocross guys.At least I can say I went and I tryed .Not used to the gate thing but it did make my day even with my mid back start to pull the Husky 144 to the first turn .After turn 1 most were gone but I did hang in ther and had fun.
The 165 did run great and I did have a go pro on so once I get it posted you can hear the little motro screaam up the big Mt St Helan hill.
I did try to get the magazine guys with the Husky demo bikes to take a good look at the 165 and maybe do a test maybe something will come of it
But Ron Lawson from Dirt Bike really showed a intrest he came over and we talked Husky. He took both my number and Walts and said he would call.He said he would like to do a test with my bike since dirt bike had already returned the Husky they had .So we will see

As for Husky there were only my bikes and 3 other 125 there No 250 or 300 and no Husky in the pro race.I also saw no one from Husky even tho the West coast office is only 10 miles from Glrn Helen.Plus only Husky and KTM still make 2 strokes.

Bottom line the 165 is a great bike and in 2 weeks I will race it at the national hare and hound instead of my 300.I should do better at that race

Sounds like a good effort and good time ... Yep, the gate thing is a little interesting ... 1st time ESP ...

3(?) yrs back the #928 300 Husky won this race ...
