• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2-8-14 SNOW RIDE Ginger Creek

buttstock

Husqvarna
AA Class
Went for a short ride up to Ginger Creek. Last corner before staging area met two Dudes who had been there and done that. Dang, I hate being third. Unloaded and took off till I ran out of tracks in the snow. Now the FUN begins, with a 450 you've got almost enough powder to do some serious power sliding. There's nothing like fresh powdered snow. Got wet from all the snow and headed back to the TaHoe. Rode 17 miles. Headed toward home and ran across two RETARDS stuck in 12"-14" 's of snow with cars. NO SNOW TIRES- NO CHAINS= NO BRAINS. I believe in Karma, what comes around, goes around. Otherwise I'd laugh at them and leave em. CROWS got to eat too. GIMG_1419.JPGIMG_1421.JPG ot my batteries recharged. Got to love Oregon in the winter. Not as good as Upstate New York, but then it's not as cold and not as much a snow. My old home town Bernhards Bay 300 " 's and counting. Gramps

Man you got it worse than me. I'm waiting the snow out. Just checked the cams out and looks like the snow at Diamond Mill is starting to melt away. Come on 45 and rain.

Ahh, come on Kelly. It's only snow. I always go riding when it snows, because it's fun and I don't have to wash the bike. LOLO Gramps

When have you ever washed a bike Gramps? I've never seen any evidence of it if you have? Do you mean hauling a bike when it's rainin? :D

I've done a few pure snow rides before in WA, GPNF ... They can be cool and the views in the woods with all the snow can be second to none and unique ...ESP when the melt starts and the creeks fill-up ...
