  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 1999 Wr 250 plastic. Any news?

Hi all.
I just lost my side plastic on my bike, and i cant find it......
Its the side that covers the silencer.
But the other side is bad to, old and cracked...

Some time ago a member talked about some company was working on making plastic to the 1999models.
Is there any news regarding this?
My plan is to make my baby shine this summer, change piston, the bad plastic and so on.
'As maybe many of you know, its a son of a bitch to get plastic to these models..

Thanks for help, and any news regarding this. :)

DC Plastic was the rumor
currently they only have the 92-94 side panels
they are a little different

yeah, but i cant see why they would sell crap.
Hope the price isnt that bad...

Would be awsome if i can stop think about plastic. Looking forward to the summer. New piston, serviced engine. And hopefully new plastic. Make the bike shine and get the engine to performe like it should. God, people in theyr cabbins will hate me when they hear BRAAAAP in the woods when the sipping wine and think they own the island. lol.

certainly hasnt stopped them before. from looking at pics, some plastic looks ok and some looks like it fits downright awful. large gaps or things that just dont fit. being a new product i really hope they fit ok, as the italian bikes have some plastic that really fits together tightly. like where the sidepanel meets the rear fender.

They are vacuum formed, so they aren't going to fit as good as the originals. However, they will fill a nice void in the marketplace where there is currently nothing available. You will have to use expanding well nuts in the rear mount as they can't mold a mounting nipple on the underside of the panel.

Would be great if you can give me a update if you order.
Dont have much choice, need new anyway, but would be nice to see if they are ok. :)

i have two sets of original sidepanels, but they are both a lil faded. i have some other items im willing to try of theirs so ill probably order the panels as well. im nott sure what to think about the shrouds. i didnt know they were reproducing those

Looks like the foolishly chose to reproduce the 95-96 shroud instead of the 98-99 shroud that was much sleeker. Bad choice but that is probably what someone gave them. The may be willing to try the later one if they could get their hands on some.

they did copy the later shroud like this 99 below. looks nothing like the 95-96 at all.

looks like a match to me. i wish they would have copied the 95 96 style. would be easier to make homemade graphics for it..

this is 95...96 was same only all white. 97 wasnt importd to states but i think was all white as well

I have a couple of sets of the 95-96 shrouds and I thought the reproduction ones looked like them until you showed side by side pics. You are correct 97 was not imported to North America and I believe they were like the 95-96.

Haha your welcome guys Tom copied those of my 99 cr125 I had to send him my old ones from Australia to get copied luckily they were in good enough shape to copy
