  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 1999 CR250 FMF Gnarly & TurbineCore 2 Where to buy?

99250CR

Husqvarna
I have just recently purchased a 1999 Husqvarna Cr250 and need a spark arrestor for the local riding park. I'm trying to find a reasonably priced FMF Gnarly expansion pipe and a TurbineCore 2 spark arrestor. I have looked everywhere and i can only find this for 2000 and up models. I live in Indiana / U.S.. Where could i find one to buy a set new or used. Thanks

Make sure you can return it, Buy it and see if it fits. I am pretty sure it will. I swapped my subframe on my 99 wr360 to a 2002 and the silencer fit just fine.

I ran into this issue with mine. I have the old burly pipe (pre gnarly). The newer silencers bolt up but the exhaust pipe does not line up with the stinger. I ended up buying a Q4, cutting the pipe right at the silencer, and re-welding the tailpipe to line up. Looking at the frame differences between the '99s and the 00+ Italians, it looks like the mounting points for the pipes has changed so I do not think the newer pipe would line up.

I was able to find Powercore stuff when I was searching for a silencer. The only issue I ran into was that you have to use a PC pipe with their silencer and I wanted to keep my pipe. I think that has to do with stinger length. But the PC stuff says it works from 99-08 i believe.

Has anyone tried making a mount adapter, or repositioning the frame mount points for the 2000 + pipe and silencer?
