  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 1998 wr 250 help needed

sean wr250

Husqvarna
Hi im after some help with my 1998 wr 250 if im coasting down a road with the clutch in the engine seems to chugg really bad anyone come across this problem any help would be appreciated

Help please :( I thought someone might have a few suggestions or has had a similar problem I am experiencing with the sort of chugging/lurching problem whilst freewheeling with the clutch in I was thinking maybe a air leak but bike bike runs fine other than when freewheeling I will try and get a video of it next time I go out

Your post isn't very descriptive. When you say "clutch in" do you mean with the lever pulled and the clutch disengaged? What does "chugg really bad" mean?

hi it sort of lurches forward even with the lever pulled and the clutch disengaged when freewheeling down a hill and maybe a knocking sound but no knocking noise when on tickover or when reved or riding its a strange symptom there is no loss of power either if i go out on the weekend i will try and film it

Warped steel clutch plate. Take the plates out and check them on a pane of glass for straight. My 02 had an issue very similar and my bud said to check the plates. Found one was warped. Changed it ...problem solved.

thanks for the info i will take a look at them i put a new clutch friction plates in they where hard to find but didnt change the steel plates i have also seen a bit of smoke come out at the seal on the power valve cover anyone got an idea where i could get the steel plates or know if a newer clutch plates will fit
