  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 1992 Husqvrna Wxe 250

I also tested the motoplat coil and it was good. I have 3 CDI boxes for the bike but it is missing the killswitch. Could i be not getting spark because the killswitch and headlight switch are missing and i dont know where they originally hooked up in the wiring harness. The wiring diagram for a 2002 model does not seem to match for the 1992 bike.IMG_2256.jpeg IMG_2256.jpeg

get the mag off and look behind, if it's old school type behind use the Motoplat testing procedure

I got the mag off and the stator is motoplat but its not encased in red plastic or epoxy is that normal? It is a 12v 110w i performed all of the tests on the stator and it tested good. When taking the stator off the bike i noticed a splice in the wiring behind the exhaust where someone did a really bad splicing job. Im hoping that was my issue. I got a new kill switch i need to wire in and got a used ignition cover for $30, i was very excited. Ill post some pictures later on of the stator. Mag says motoplat mini 4.

Is this the normal stator for husqvarnas?

Does anyone know what size and thread is the nut to hold the mag to the crank? The nut was missing when i got the bike. Or of anyone has one for sale id love to buy it.

Ive called halls and several other places looking for the mag nut with no luck anywhere. Does anyone here know if a 1995 wr250 stator nut would fit a 1992? Im hesitant to buy it as im US and its being sold from AU so its $30 shipping for a $15 nut but if it fits ill buy it.
