  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Hello, ive just picked up a 1992 Husqvarna WXE 250 in a trade. Overall the bike in is decent condition. I got the bike and it was missing the stator nut and stator cover. The seller said it had no spark. I did a quick resistance test on the stator. I have no manuals or diagrams to work from. My stator has 3 leads all light blue. First reading was 36 Ohms second was 444 ohms and 436 ohms. The second thing i found was the ground pin in the CDI box was snapped off so i just removed the pin and making a new lead for it. Is anyone able to give me some insight on the stator and electrical system in these bikes. Anything is much appreciated.

The coil is motoplat and im not sure about the mag but this is how i got the bike. Does anyone know what the mag should read if its good and where does the wire go from the coil?

Does anyone have a headlight/killswitch for this bike for sale as well as a stator cover? As far as i can tell thats the only things missing from the bike. What is the thread for the flywheel nut as well that was take off the bike as well.

I thought my boss said it was for a 1992 wr but its actually for a 2002 WR250 did they change the electrical much in these years?

if it's a 2002 why on earth is there a Motoplat coil on it
plan on n a new ignition
the stator cover should not be hard to find, they made that engine for white a few years

Ryan529,
If it's the bike in your avatar, that is not a 2002.
Check your VIN to see what you really have.

definitely a late Motoplat, probably not working
pull the plug spin with a drill see if you get voltage from the blue wire

So i got some time today to test the stator and im getting about 15-18 volts by turning the motor over by kicker. Waiting on my new flywheel puller set to come in. Does this seem low or should i wait to pull the flywheel and test off the bike?
