• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Guys,
I'm looking into buying another Husky 510, this time it a 1988 TX. My Problem is the bike
missing most of the body work & i can't fine too many pictures of what the bike suppose
to look like stock? Any one got a profile picture or a brochure on the 88 510 4 strokes?

Are these 510's pics a 87,88 or 89's as i'm gettting confused on when Husky changed over
to the black side numberplates

There was two models in 89 A and B models, the B models had the 2-stroke air box with over and under left side exhaust. I pretty sure going from left to right '86, '88, and '89.

Jim,
So was 87 the 1st year for the black rear numberplates, on the 2 strokes & 89 for the 4 strokes?

my 88 te has the exhaust and forks like in the left picture and the plastic and seat like middle one. I am only seeing the full floater like brake assembly on the far right, can read cross country on the swingarm for the left picture

Yeap i knew the 86 was air cooled as i have one, haven't had the pleasure of a water cooled Husky 510 yet, if i get it
i'll post pics. I forgot Husky T loaded a bunch of Manuals & there was a 88 510 one :applause:

Hello
Do someone have Husqvarna TE 510 1988 electrical schematic?? I tried to search google for, but without result, thats why now i ask here
cheers

Does the 88 TE have the SEM ignition?

It is pretty large compared to a mini 6. has two yellow wires (I assume for 12 volt power in addition to the stuff for the ignition) coming out. I doubt mine has ever been off.

My question is this
Do someone have Husqvarna TE 510 1988 electrical schematic?? I tried to search google for, but without result, thats why now i ask here

Thanks, i tell that for bike owner..I quess it has some others question also...I post them here :)

Awesome, thanks for those, He just want to know where are goes those white wires on lightcoil?? something like that

Im pretty sure the 88 has reverted from the inverted ignition.. but still a SEM. I the the change to DUCATI was early 90s, but I could be wrong there. the later ignition is a bolt up job on the earlier bikes.. including the 87, as the crank taper is the same on all the L/C models (larger big end as well when compared to a/c)
