My 1988 250 WR had it's first outing yesterday at the Cookardinia Vinduro in southern New South Wales, and while it is a great bike to ride, I have an issue downshifting from 3rd expecting to engage 2nd gear, only to find myself in neutral, if I upshift I find second gear, or if I downshift again I find first, so it's skipping second gear and going straight into neutral.
While talking to another Husky rider at the event, it was suggested that the small spring (16 11 684-01) on the shift rack that engages the shift drum may have lost tension and need replacing, sounds logical?
I can't think of any other scenario that could cause this issue, has anyone here found the same problem?
Tony.
