• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

i think...i just picked it up on a trade. owner said it ran before i got there but magically didnt anymore after i got there. i looked at the carb and the bottom over flow tube was pluged into the top tube lol so i figured it was that but it wasnt. im new to these so some help would be appreciated! ive worked on a few round slide carbs but never a flat slide top idle adjuster. im not sure but i think the adjuster is missing...looks just like a rigged one is there. thats why i figure now it wont start its just letting tons of air through the slide but still dont know. the reeds look good, one does not seat all the way but not off by much. air filter was crap, have to get a new one for sure. hope you guys like my new bike! cant wait to get it running.

That's not the carb that came with the bike. It should be a Mikuni round slide.

still nothing. i got a sputter for a second thats all after kicking 100+ times. gas just coming out the overflow every few kicks too. horrible trade, i traded my 82 250r atc for this and i miss it already. anyone want this bike for 500 right now?

If you have fuel coming out the over flow, you have either a bad needle and seat or the floats are out of adjustment. Either way the problem is in the carb, which is the wrong one for that bike.

Is it just a 38 mm roundslide that belongs on the bike? I cannot find any parts for this anywhere other than the three items on eBay. Any one know a good place? I found a filter on denniskirk.com

Thank you guys. I looked on there and found only two 87s. After looking this bike up and down i guess it seems pretty good. Only thing i need is carb and rear shock, the reservoir is broke off. glad I found this site I will be searching alot more. Tomorrow i am going to do a compression test, im sure it's low because my last 250 was a beast to kick over. How hard is it to find a piston for this? What if its bored?
