    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

1982 engine oil question.

Just got thru with my restoration project and getting loaded up for White Rock and the ISDT Reunion ride coming up this weekend. What kind of and how much oil do I need to run in the transmission. Also what is a good pre-mix to use and what ratio.

I've just been too busy at work and got carried away with my a few weeks ago with getting the 250 ready to ride. Wound up going all the way to the frame and back in just a week. Having never worked on the bike since I bought it I did a lot of head scratching before I finished. Good thing I took a lot of pictures with the I phone or I would have never got it back together.

For anybody that's coming to Arkansas this weekend, it looks to be great weather for this weekend with some much needed rain on wed and thurs. I know with all the great comments the Razorback Riders got at last years Reunion Ride the club is planning on a even better event this year.

I have the same bike and yes I'm getting old to. Your opening up a can of worms as everybody has there opion on what the best Oil will be. The owners manual sez to use 20 wt Motor Oil. Its still avalable but its not everywhere. The late 80's Manuals sez to use Bel-Ray Gearsaver. Most people agree that one should use a Motorcycle specific Oil because of the Wet Clutch that these bikes have. With Automotive Oil the Clutch may Stick after extended sitting time. Anyway I use the Bel-Ray in mine. Good Luck on your Ride...

Castrol CRI 20 its a motor oil for older cars .
 
1.6 liter oil capacity is listed for the 1984 250 WR and the 1985 400WRX. You can use 0-30 synthetic as long as it does not say "Energy Conserving" on the round label on back of the oil container
