• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Adam, these things are more dangerous than a normal standard shift motocycle. If you grab a big handful of throttle and then back off it may still leap forward. I am not sure if it can put a lot of inertia into the rear wheel or it is in the engine.

My understanding is government funds were involved in producing it for winter use for the Sweedish army. They probably have a name for it in your country, pork barrel politics comes to mind in this country. They are not particularly rare around here, 10 pounds of parts from inside the engine might bring as much as the whole thing.

Ride it in an un environmentally friendly manner, try and spin the rear tire as opposed to slipping the clutches. At least getting moving. At least with those one can clean out the slots like it shows in the manual with a hacksaw blade. The drive taper can go bad so if you have it off be sure to re torque it a few times like the manual says, I think it says that.

They sound so cool going down the road auto shifting. Make me wonder how would they do at the drag strip. I knew my 98 250wr was very close if not better than a 12 second quarter mile. The auto maybe quicker.

It is a good idea to search and read all the posts on here, the Auto needs a lot of particular care, most of which you will find detailed.

Pez help this guy out will ya.

Pezberg is a forum member from Brisbane with a pretty good auto and a bunch of knowledge cause he's been there done that.

Adam happy to help with what I know. Feel free to ask questions. As suggested by Surprize! Shoey has a couple of 420 autos so will know your exact model. I don't think he visits this forum but you can track him down through VERi of Engineered Environments the business he runs in Sydney. They sponsor VMX and Vinduro big time!
