  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1979 Husqvarna WR 390 Color Help

CR 360 Rider

View attachment 39971 View attachment 39972My dad and I are restoring a 1979 WR 390 and I was wondering if any one could provide me with the correct color code for the black tank. We want to make sure we have the correct color on the bike. Here are some pictures of the bike. the first picture is when we first got it home, it had a broken desert tank on it. The bike really needed us to take it home and show it some love. the second picture has an extra 1976 tank on it that we are going to paint with the black. The bike is a little rough, but not too bad for our second bike.

Just mask the white striping and the chrome inside of it and spray the black over everything red and decals . actually the white should be gold to be authentic and decals for the Husqvarna insignia will make a nice job. If you can get thin enough decals, they can be overcoated with clear for protection. I will say for myself I would have a hard time bringing myself to overcoat the red with the black because the red looks nicely done

The clear has lots of spots on it, so it needs to be painted over but we want it to be period correct black, so I was wondering if any one can provide me with the paint code for the black.

It looks much better in your garage than in my yard. Make it look purdy like the 360.

Scott

It is starting to look good. We had an extra tank that we used and are gonna paint. We will make look good like our other one

It is likely a non metallic straight black. There is a color known simply as "Black". One of the primary eight colors. depending on layers of clear you can make it as shallow or deep as you want Deltron or even Omni by PPG would be my choice for durable and professional appearing

Alright thank you. We will order just a gloss black.
Thank you very much
