• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sorry guys didnt have this post send me notifications....

Yes this is his 1976 Los Ancianos Tecate Enduro winning bike.....

Its running and works perfect.....

This bike will be in the AMA Hall of Fame he in a few months...... as soon as I can get out there and bring it all back....

And thank to Robeterico...... He was a great man, awesome person within the m/c industry and fabulous racer....

Ron helped me immeasurably when I "restored" a 420 Auto back in the early 90s and I never forget he was the one that signed me out at the last check of the Tecate enduro 1994 (now 100% sure it was 94 100% sure it was Ron) , been to his shop many times in escondido but sorrowfully had not been there in a in bunch of years.
This years LAMC Tecate Enduro is to be named the Rob Bishop memorial enduro (info from LAMC members)
Thank you for posting that racermx904 that was amazing, Ron will be missed- RIP Ron.
Rons Skunk helmets, very cool. 2x ISDT rider.

I was hoping I could make the Enduro this year... still not sure if I will be able to or not....

Funny story is My dad won the first Tecate and Ron got 2nd overall and the 2nd year they reversed positions.... my dad was an enduro beast and Ron a fabulous rider.... Ron's best racing attribute was his "race craft"... he knew how to approach a race and the right tactics during the race....

sad something as silly as CO2 posioning took his life.....

From LAMC site this was when it was the Tecate 500 Enduro (wow), the 1st five years. racemx904, you really need to come out and do this, especially this year. take the trip out west (passport in hand) race the enduro pick up Ron's stuff and head back east to the AMA HoF....easy...

Right now I cant bring a bike all the way out from KY.... It does need a title to get it back and forth across the border... is an MSO good enough?

You know Im pretty sure if you have some official form of doc you will be fine. At tecate crossing they have been stopping and checking us everytime we come in they just match the frame to whatever official paperwork you have. This is for all the guys coming down--Have a nice doc with matching
vin number on it.
