  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1973 450wr Quiet Exhaust

FirstEliminator

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hey guys,

The 73 450wr I have is really loud. It is going to be street ridden and used at some events where they may impose a sound test. I was thinking about putting some type of later silencer on it. Something used/cheap from e-bay.
Or, one of the questions I was wondering is, do those more modern style expansion chambers with the silencer give the bike better power and make it more quiet? Like the one available through Vintage Husky. I see they have one for the 400, will this fit the 450?

thanks,
Mark

A long time ago I remembered seeing a post about after market or performance exhausts. There was a manufacturor mentioned and I didn't save it to my favorites. Last night, I spent a while searching and finally found Circle F. They make a pipe with a silencer kit for the 450. They don't have a direct picture of it on their site. They do have a pic of a Husqvarna with their pipe. It is different than stock, but it doesn't quite look like what HuskyJunk or Vintage Husky has available. Is it known if Circle F makes those pipes for them?
The Circle F pipe seems to be pretty affordable. Anyone use the Circle F pipe? http://www.circlefexhaust.com/

Here are the pics from the Circle F website.

Has anyone used an exhaust like this? Does it provide better power? Does the silencer quiet the exhaust note better than stock?
