    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Since my new rims from England won't be here for the foreseeable future, I cleaned up the rims I have and got the rear together. The front is waiting on polishing and I still got a bunch of stuff at the plater. Still some progress. Chris

My forks from storage are not in bad shape so I'll use those lowers and I don't have a set of black legs. So I'll just use the original upper tubes until I can get what I want, not perfect but OK
 
Thank you for posting this project! I also have a '71 360 C Enduro that needs a bit of work. I'll be running the motor over to Larry Stahl in GA but will either do the frame bits myself or farm it out....I haven't decided. I like the Powder coat--I may have that done on my bike. Did you bead blast the frame or? Thanks again for posting this project--it will definitely help me figure out what the hell im doing--part of my problem is my bike is missing both fenders, the headlight & the tailight & a few other things (air bell & Air filter cover).
 
nrecob When you get into a project you have to take pics and share with the locals!!:applause: That's how they can see what it takes to get thru the rough patches. And ask anyone on this or a million other sites, pics are king to get the feeling and visuals across. Just checkout Darins Magnificant Seven!!:busted: He puts everything out there and it is so much a learning experience for a lot of us. This is my small contribution and when I first got here I was lost and in way over my head. Just ask a lot of questions and keep pushing forward....even if it takes a couple of years!! That being said, It looks like the previouse post was your first, SO....Welcome to Husky Cafe, and when you are ready just start a new post on the bike you've got. Did some assembly today. Found that one of the fork lowers has a oversized drain hole that needs to be repaired. And the size of the rear tire makes the quick change hub not so quick to change. Plus I put it together without the sprocket! And checking the frame and motor numbers, this motor belongs in the other frame and that motor belongs in this one!! But that's how I got the bikes. I got the front wheel spoked and I'll true it up next week and get the tire on it. Then all the other stuff. Chris

Good job! Glad to see someone else working on the bikes this weekend. Looks like you are using the new brake pad material? Aren’t theses jewels fun. On my friends 78 Wr 250. This is third time splitting the cases. The shifter keeps binding on down shifts, (sticks lil). My thoughts are: a case got replaced and was not a matching set. I took today and trimmed some off end of shafts, loosen things just a titch where the shims meet the cases. I sanded every shift shaft, that cam shifting gear, and everything associated with shifting. Then polished everything. Darn thing shifts now buttery smooth.
 
Yeah Darin, I love screwing with them. On my 450 I had a shifting problem, one of the shift plte lugs was loose and it cooked trying to hold it in shift position. Took it apart like 4 times, even made a lexan carrier to see what was happening. Looked pretty cool but did not help find the problem.I an using the material you showed us. I probably should have made them a little longer. Well see. Your doing Grat work there! Chris
 
Well I found out why the fork leg was milled. They are the wrong lowers for this hub and brake plate! Now I'm looking for a set of fork lowers, that are correct! But the bike is a roller now. I'll switch the motors tomorrow, so they will be in the correct frames. It is never easy!! Chris

The fork lowers that I am looking for I have only seen in the parts manual. For a 70-71 Sportsman. Must be Unobtainable!! Anyone have them let me know I used to have Cash!!:(

Also talked to John at VH and he confirmed the milled leg was the original for the Sportsman ONLY. So I'll have to haver the other set Polished too!!

I am looking for a early 70 Femsa right hand stub for the 250 also!! Chris
 
Started putting the NOS fenders on, made a new rubber skirt for the rear bottom fender thanks to the drawing from Husky News Letter #24. I Like It!! Chris

Well this bike is still not finished. Lotsa other stuff going on. I cleaned my desk and found Don at Vintage Vikings phone number written on an old receipt that faded away long ago. So I called him and asked about the 2021 0008 Motor. Turns out it was Ordered and Shipped from Husqvarna in Sweden by Ron Bohn. He was on the 1973 ISDT Team They won the Silver Vase. Dick Burleson, Malcom Smith, Ed Schmidt and Ron Bohn.
So that is pretty surprising. My 360 Sportsman was sold to Penton for re-sale and the other 360 Enduro C was sold in Texas. That's all for now.

Yeah it is cool, but its for my 1972 450cr Engine #2021 Serial#0008. It was the first build I did on this site and I would have put it on that thread but I can't find it. Hope all is well with you and the family Marty!!

We are doing good. OK I remember the 450. Yea it was a "well used up" bike and that does explain the condition of it now knowing the history. You put a lot of good work into it and stuck with that project. It turned out really nice.
