  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 195lb rider on 2001 CR125

I currently ride @ 07 CRF450X, and I am looking for a fun bike to ride around with some of my "less experienced" friends. I found a 01 Cr125, with and 18" rear wheel, guards, skid plate .. etc, basically set up for woods riding.

My question is can I set up the suspension for a 195lb rider? Can I buy springs that will work with my weight? I bounced around the forum a bit but could find any specifics ...

For woods you can use the stock springs with a LTR revalve of the forks.

I race an 02 Wr125 and I'm at least 195#

I can run rings around my big 4stroke with my tiddler.

Watch it now...I got a new 08 Husky CR125 a few years back as my play bike for my 07 Honda 450R. The Honda and a few others have been sold and I'm still loving my now WB165. BTW I'm 200 lbs and even in stock trim the little 125 was a blast; go for it.

the answer is yes, lots of springs out there for that bike, no problem. Fun bike and Johns right, once you realize you can do everything the 450 will do and have 2X the fun you might not ride it much any more. Good buddy Blake has a CRF450 that never gets ridden (dune bike now) and he rides his 125 all the time. He is over 200.

Wont be a problem. I am the same exact weight as you without gear. Plenty of options.

And John is correct. I also bought my WR125 while owning a CRF450. The CRF is now gone.

Great bike and you can always step it up to the 144 or the great 165. I am same weight and it is just plain flat out fun and my WR 250 gets jealous all the time.

Exactl!!, With gear, I'm probably around 235. I came of an 08 450R, and like Kelly said. She's been parked in the garage for months with a paddle, and flag mounted up. The only time I'd put a knobby on is for strictly hill-climbing days, but with my new WB165 kit coming, I don't even know if I'll do that anymore....

I just got back from riding my daugters CR144, and I can assure you that you won't disappointed in the power of these bikes. I weigh in at a portly 210ish, 230ish with gear, did I mention how easy the bike is to handle?

Geez, ease up on the cheetoz there bro...

:D

Later,

Whatever Jake...
