• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

    TE = 2st Enduro & TC = 2st Cross

TE/TC 18' TE/TC going to be injected?

It's soooo tempting to buy an Fi 300 from Husqvarna...3 years in the darkness (riding a 4T) with the realisation of a fuel and oil injected, proper button start 2T, something that was a only pipe dream 2years ago let alone 1 year ago, man!!

I have a feeling one of my crew will be on a 2018 KTM250XC-W TPI bike very soon, he has the long distance machine (Husky FE501) the trials Montesa 260 4T, and wants a trail/extreme/single track weapon......he is keen on the new bike and I am feeding his sickness. Motive...I want to ride it too!!

The only issue l have with this new Fi is that Dellorto is making the Fi unit and presumably, the ECU...l've had bad experiences with Dellorto in the carb version so that is my only qualm.

But, l hear Jonny Walker is testing the Fi model for Erzberg and it would be interesting to get an honest assessment without the KTM factory sanitized version.

TPI would be great, but I will never buy the first year model of a new generation bike. No I'm not scared of change or something new, but history does have a habit of repeating itself. Im going down the path of a 2018 300 but CARB . Seriously considered TPI but as there will be a few refinements over the 2017 with jetting changes and suspension tweaks its a proven base . I just sold my 2016 TE 300 only because all the reviews of the 2017 were so great ( apart from jetting, reeds ).
Has anyone ridden a 2017 and care to share if they are that much nicer to ride than the 2016 ??? I keep hearing smoother thanks to the counter balancer but also handles better thanks to the new chassis .....

It's looking like we are going to get the 250 and the 300.

The last sentence from your link.

"The new Husqvarna MY18 enduro range will be available worldwide from July 2017 onwards at all authorised Husqvarna Motorcycles Dealers."

Somehow I think their definition of available worldwide won't mean sufficient supply at every dealership. I am kind of curious where this goes once they stop trying to make it preform like what we are used to. Kind of like the first year of disc brakes.

The fuel injected 2t bike will have oil injection too no more mixing, no more jetting. I hope they fix the starter problems. I guess water and dirt is getting in it. I need a e start.

Finally technology hits the 2T motors.

It was a dream to ride a oil injected 2T before they killed the dinosaurs. Back in the 1970's. Just fill the oil injection tank, gas her up and go. Great back road riding too, dualsport.

I ran across this on another forum. It doesn't look good for getting a hold of a tpi bike this year.
