• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This evening i will pick up my new bike, but can not order the all in one protection skidplate @ husqy dealer.
Would like to order aftermarket then, wich one do you guys recommend?

I run the Enduro engineering skid plate with the Obie link. I think it is a great combo it lets you just slide over big logs.

I would run the SXS Skid and Link Guard....All the Hardware is included for a Perfect Fit....

Obie guard looks nice but is 2 piece kit,
Prefer the 1 piece skidplate and link guard like sxs...
I just contacted them because the 2017 model is not in the list...

Really stoked to have this bike in my garage.
Big upgrade from the previous wr250 2003, looking forward to the first ride...
Next week should have the nr plates, but forecast is bad weather .
Also waiting for exhaust protection, carbon fiber from husqy and rear disc protector.
Front disc protector was in stock...

I hadn't seen that one yet - looks nice. Anyone had a chance to beat one of these up and see how it performs? And how does it hold up, long term? And how easy/hard is it to remove/clean?

EE skid and obie. Drill extra 2 holes to join the two together and buy bigger screws and washers to make to woods tough.

PS (2014 TE300)
I would choose the 1 piece SXS, but FYI I already have the TM Design works full size skid plate with the corresponding (mount hole matched) Obie link guard attached to it.
My Obie guard is the second one, the first one wore out , which is fine as it is expected to be sacrificial. So the TMD skid plate with the Obie attached is close to the same set up as the 1 piece SXS, The hard Plastic works well and slides over things and allows for flex in the plate as well as the chassis.

Have seen it on jarvis bike...
Send email to sxs last sunday and also did not get reply yet...
Would like to order fast so i can set up bike, linkage really sticks out.
The first 30km is a fact, this bike blows me away!
Think i will be much faster with this one then my 2003...

Completely agree with you re: we just BOUGHT SPEED! I bumped myself up a category to Vet B from Vet C for my first legit season of full racing at our local XC series up in Ontario Canada....I am looking forward to getting this properly jetted in spring and getting some seat hours...Hard to beat the flickability of my 2010 CR 144 but I equate the TX to the same sensation as my first experience driving a 2009 BMW M3 in M mode......Civilized POWER and HOW THE HECK did I get going THAT FAST?!?!?!?! hahahahahahahah. BRING ON 2017!!! taking my 144 out for a break in 1/4 ride today in plus 3 deg celcius temps.

Back on topic....yeah, I'll call and order if able to connect. If not...I'm not opposed to just grabbing a sexy P3 skid plate either...I'm no trials rider and the rocks and logs I come across are...mild
