  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

For all you 165 guys that are waiting for a pipe, the deal with FMF is almost done. I will be getting 25 pipes and mounting hardware from FMF over the next 30-60 days. I will be getting an initial shipment of 5-7 pipes with the remainder arriving as they make a new run. If you want one of these pipes please PM me and I will give you the particulars. If you want one of the initial pipes without a delay it is best not to wait to send that pm. For you guys that have kits being currently built we can probably get the entire kit and pipe put together through Kelly. Don't forget to have him add in the skid plate for the 09 and later bikes.....They are awsome.

Excellent work Walt****************************************! Are these based on the KTM 200Sx pipe?

anyone tried a 200 pipe on a 125/144? Wonder what would happen with that?

If Kelly thinks the Pro Circuit 200 pipe offers enough of a different power spread, I will also try to get a similar deal done with PC. Thank you Dwight for the contact info to get that done. The key to these deals is to get you 165 guys and gals running the best possible combination for your needs. I live for the happy messages I get back.

PM sent ! I may need one fast I have a race with a Honda 250 comming up LOL. Walt if this looks like the one I PMed you it's because I put it in the wrong place; hey I'm old :D.

It is based on the KTM 200 SX Fatty pipe. I have tried the 200 pipe with the high compression 144. I does make for more bottom/mid. The problem is that it hurts the top quite a bit. If a rider wants that 3K to 10-11K power band it just makes more sense to go the 165 route where the increase is really substantial. I also tried the PC 200 sx pipe with the 144 and it didn't like it. I think the larger initial size hurts it. It also might just have been a jetting issue as it might just have needed more fuel.

Hey Walt my bike is an 08 will that matter?

John,

No just takes different alignment for the brackets. I have a much better welder lined up to produce these so they should be much more presentable for you blingy kind of riders.

I will test that shortly, rain and snow here right now. I can't imagine being more happy then with the 200Sx pipe which IMHO is PERFECT.

Thanks to Obiwalt!:notworthy:

I the otherday finished my own 200SX Fatty pipe for my 09 WB165 and with some coaching from Walt it came out pretty good,I was a welder in my younger days and own a mig welder I use for my other hobby, old army jeeps, well anyhow it was a fun,but challenging project.A lot more goes into these pipes than you would think to make them line up correctly, will be testing my WB165 this weakend and will get back with my report.I live in KTM country so it was pretty easy to find a pipe.
Dave.
