• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

165 kit price and turnaround time

Nate,

I think Kelly is out of town until Monday. You will just need to send me your extra top end either 125 or 144, most send the 125 and mount the 144. I need just the cylinder, head, and power valves. I have one kit sitting on the shelf right now and ready to go. Kelly can quote you the exact pricing but in the mean time the kit is $680 and the FMF Fatty 200 sx pipe converted for the Husky is $250. If you want to go ahead you can ship me your stuff at:

Walt Smith
1052 Tammany Lane
Hamilton, MT 59840

When I receive your parts I ship the kit to Kelly for spiffing and packaging,
Thanks,
Walt

Thanks For the response Walt. Ive landed some support for the 2013 season through a local dealer and husky NA. I'm trying to decide on what bikes to go with and was set on txc310's but I've been doing a lot of research on your 165 and I'm getting second thoughts. Is the 165 ported for max power or is there some more power to be had with porting? Been fighting some nagging injuries for the last couple of years and I'm coming off 250 gasgas and haven't been on a husky since the 2009 season. I race Western National Hare Scrambles, d36 cross country and enduro. I'm 6'6" 230 A-vet, what is your honest advise on bike selection?

Feel free to pm me if you want.

Thanks again,
Nate
